GTA 6 SOUNDTRACK
& RADIO

From Miami bass to reggaeton, Vice City's airwaves are about to be legendary.

Status — April 2026: No official tracklist has been released. These station predictions are based on Leonida's cultural setting, franchise precedent, trailer music analysis, and industry reporting. We'll update with confirmed stations and songs as Rockstar reveals them.

Music in GTA 6

Music has always been the soul of Grand Theft Auto. Vice City's 1980s soundtrack defined a generation of gamers, and GTA V's 15 radio stations set the gold standard for in-game audio curation. GTA 6, returning to Vice City in a modern-day Florida setting, has the opportunity to create the most culturally diverse and impactful soundtrack in gaming history.

Rockstar reportedly spent over $100 million on music licensing for GTA 6 — the largest music budget in entertainment history. The Florida setting opens doors to Latin music, Miami bass, trap, reggaeton, EDM, country (rural Leonida), and classic rock, creating a radio dial that reflects America's most musically diverse state.

For Leonida's rural interior — the Grassrivers, backwater towns, and dirt roads. Outlaw country, Southern rock, and modern country. Jason's likely default station during off-road sequences.

Expected vibe: Zach Bryan, Tyler Childers, Chris Stapleton, Turnpike Troubadours, plus Lynyrd Skynyrd and Allman Brothers classics.

Classic rock, indie, and alternative. Every GTA features rock and it remains essential. Florida's rock scene (Against Me!, Underoath, A Day to Remember) adds local flavor.

Expected vibe: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arctic Monkeys, Tame Impala, Queens of the Stone Age, plus Florida punk/hardcore.
TK

WKTT Talk Radio

TALK / SATIRE

GTA's signature satirical talk radio. Outrageous hosts, absurd callers, fake advertisements, and biting social commentary. Rockstar's writing team at their funniest — Florida's political circus writes itself.

Expected vibe: Conspiracy theorists, influencer culture mockery, Florida Man news segments, and fake pharmaceutical ads.

GTA Music Through the Ages

Every GTA game has set the standard for licensed music in video games. Here's how the soundtrack has evolved:

GTA III (2001) — The Pioneer

First GTA with in-car radio stations. 9 stations across genres. Set the template every GTA has followed since. Featured Scarface soundtrack influence and early 2000s hip-hop.

GTA: Vice City (2002) — The Legend

The gold standard. 1980s soundtrack across 9 stations that became as iconic as the game itself. Flash FM, V-Rock, Emotion 98.3, and Wave 103 are still referenced today. Over 100 licensed tracks from Michael Jackson to Judas Priest.

GTA: San Andreas (2004) — The Deepest Cuts

11 stations spanning early-90s hip-hop, grunge, G-funk, country, and talk radio. Radio Los Santos became the definitive West Coast rap station in gaming. Featured N.W.A, 2Pac, Stone Temple Pilots, and more.

GTA IV (2008) — The Art House

19 stations including the first Eastern European and jazz stations. Featured original music from LCD Soundsystem and Aphex Twin. Introduced a more mature, diverse musical palette that reflected Liberty City's melting pot.

GTA V (2013) — The Benchmark

15 stations with 441 tracks at launch, expanded to 500+ through updates. Featured original scores by Tangerine Dream, Oh No, and Woody Jackson. Set the modern benchmark with genre coverage from punk to West Coast Classics to FlyLo FM's experimental electronic.

Original Score

Beyond radio stations, GTA 6 will feature an original score for missions, cutscenes, and ambient exploration. GTA V's three-composer approach (Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson, Oh No) was groundbreaking, and GTA 6 is expected to follow a similar multi-composer model.

The score will likely adapt dynamically to gameplay — swelling during police chases, becoming ambient during exploration, and shifting tone between Vice City's neon streets and Leonida's swampland interiors. Expect a sonic palette that blends synthwave, Latin percussion, Southern gothic atmosphere, and cinematic orchestration.
