Jason & Lucia: the center of everything
GTA 6's story revolves around two playable leads: Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. Rockstar has confirmed them as a couple — the series' first female protagonist alongside her partner — and framed them in the Bonnie-and-Clyde mold, two people pulled deeper into crime together. Lucia's official bio references her time in the correctional system and her family; Jason's ties him to the Keys and a life already entangled with dangerous people. They are the one part of the cast that is fully, officially confirmed, and almost everyone else on this page connects back to them.
That's the useful way to think about the rest of the characters: not as a flat list, but as concentric rings of certainty around those two. Some figures Rockstar has named and described. Some appeared only in a leak. Some are role-types the world clearly contains. And a few are beloved faces from past games that fans want back but that Rockstar has said nothing about. This page keeps those rings strictly separate, because collapsing them is how misinformation spreads about an unreleased game.
A note on method: the "confirmed" group below is limited to characters Rockstar has either given an official bio or genuinely shown on screen. Everything past that is labeled for exactly what it is. Each name links to its full entry, where the confirmed-versus-invented breakdown goes deeper.

The honest bottom line
The confirmed GTA 6 cast is still small — Jason, Lucia, and the named allies and antagonists Rockstar has chosen to reveal. That's normal this far from launch; Rockstar reveals its characters slowly and deliberately, often saving major players for later trailers. The leaked names are the most likely source of future confirmations, but until Rockstar publishes a bio or shows them in official footage, they stay in the yellow tier. Expect this map to fill in as the marketing campaign ramps toward release — and expect a few surprises Rockstar has kept entirely off the table.
