How to read this list
Like its vehicles, GTA's weapons are designed as recognizable stand-ins for real hardware without using the actual trademarks. The series' "Assault Rifle" is an AK pattern; the "Carbine Rifle" reads as an M4; the "Combat Pistol" is a Glock-style sidearm. Knowing the real basis tells you how a weapon will probably feel — rate of fire, role, recoil character — even before any stats exist.
This page sorts every weapon we currently track for GTA 6 — 66 entries across 12 categories — by type, and pairs each with the real-world weapon or tool it's modelled on. It runs from the obvious firearm classes through melee, thrown weapons, the more unusual projectiles a water-heavy map invites, and the supporting equipment like armor and scopes.
What's actually confirmed is limited. Rockstar has not published a weapon list, damage figures, or an arsenal breakdown for GTA 6. Most of what's below comes from two places: long-running series staples that are safe to expect, and weapons that appeared in the September 2022 development leak. The status column is honest about the difference — "expected" means series history, "in 2022 leak only" means it showed up in unfinished stolen footage, and anything genuinely shown in an official trailer is marked as such. No damage numbers, no DPS, no unlock costs appear here, because Rockstar hasn't released them. Each name links to its full entry.
